According to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor), domestic manufacturers registered 104 new products by the end of 2023, marking a significant increase of 2.8 times compared to the previous year in 2021.
In regard to comparison, it is noteworthy that Russian companies registered 36 drugs in 2021, a number that increased significantly to 78 in 2022. In 2023, the number of registered drugs reached 104, and compared to 2021, the figure increased 2.8 times, the department said. Earlier, we would like to remind you that Rosselkhoznadzor announced a fourfold increase in registrations of Russian veterinary drugs.
According to the department’s summary, a grand total of 218 domestic vaccines and pharmaceuticals were registered in Russia between 2021 and 2023. Rosselkhoznadzor reminds both domestic and foreign manufacturers that they are obligated to meet the same requirements when registering veterinary products, including adhering to the rules of good manufacturing practice (GMP).
Currently, among 99 domestic companies, 27 have such a certificate. Another 14 manufacturers have already undergone the procedure for confirming compliance to further obtain a conclusion, the department summed up.
