Every day, at least three healthcare institutions are put into operation in Russia, either after renovation or upon completion of construction. On April 3, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko emphasized that this indicator has reached unprecedented heights in recent years.
Speaking to members of the government, he also touched upon the topic of providing the healthcare industry with personnel. In addition to the existing support measures, a supplementary payment was introduced last year, specifically aimed at doctors operating in small settlements. At the beginning of 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an increase in the volume of accrued funds.
In cities with a population of 50,000 to 100,000 people, doctors will receive an additional 29,000 rubles on top of their basic salary, while nursing staff will receive an additional 13,000 rubles. In settlements with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants, payments are higher: 50,000 rubles for doctors and 30,000 for mid-level medical workers. Mikhail Murashko assessed this step positively and expressed hope that the benefit will help retain doctors in small settlements.
