Drug prices in Russia increased by 1% in May

According to Rosstat data, the cost of non-essential medicines increased by 1% in May 2024 compared to the previous month. Additionally, annual inflation in Russia accelerated to 8.3% in May 2024, up from 7.84% in April 2024. In monthly terms, consumer prices rose by 0.74%.

In May, prices for drugs not related to vital and essential drugs (VED) increased by an average of +1%, including valerian extract (+2.6%), ketorol express (+2.5%) , canephron N (+2.4%), sinupret (+2.1%), levomekol (+2%), ingalipt and methyluracil (+1.6%), allochol, activated carbon and fluocinolone acetonide (+1.5 %), taurine and citramon (+1.4%), combined analgesics (+1.2%), rengalin, sulfacetamide and multivitamins (+1.1%). Prices decreased: validol (-0.7%), acipol, naphazolin, ergoferon and Essentiale Forte N (-0.1%).

Prices for drugs related to vital and essential drugs increased by an average of 0.9%, including bisacodyl (+7.7%), amoxicillin with clavulanic acid (+3.4%), paracetamol (+2.5% ), drotaverine (no-shpu) (+1.4%), enalapril (+1.3%), glycine, ingavirin, hydrogen peroxide, furosemide and aminophylline (+1.1%), omeprazole (+1%) . Prices for suprastin (-0.5%), ibuprofen (-0.3%), amlodipine, oseltamivir (Nomides) (-0.2%) decreased.
