In 2024, the increase in prices for drugs from the list of vital and essential drugs is about 3.3% and does not exceed the inflation rate. The rise in prices for other drugs that are not vitally important remains at 4.1%. During a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Sergei Glagolev, the Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, addressed this matter.
“The increase in prices for vital and essential drugs today is below the inflation rate, at about 3.3% in 2024 when transposed to an annual level. Meanwhile, prices for drugs not included in the vital and essential drugs segment increased by approximately 4.1%,” he stated, emphasizing that Rozravnadzor is actively monitoring retail prices for medicines in real time.
At the same time, earlier the director of the Federal State Institution «State Institute of Drugs and Good Practices» (also known as FSI «SID & GP»), Vladislav Shestakov, said that in 2023, prices for Russian medicines increased by 4.3% compared to the previous year (prices for vital and essential drugs – by 0.6%).
