The Russian Prime Minister, Mikhail Mishustin, has allocated 1.8 billion rubles to provide free medicines, medical supplies, and nutritional support to eligible citizens, including people with disabilities, disabled children, and Chernobyl survivors.
Previously, the government indexed the amount for which beneficiaries could receive these products. In total, about 58 billion rubles are allocated for these purposes in the federal budget in 2024.
In April 2024, the Russian Federation government approved a decree establishing the standard cost of medicines for preferential categories of citizens, taking into account price indexation. Based on the indexation coefficient of 1.074 (7.4%) as of February 1, 2024, the standard increases by 83.5 rubles to 1211.3 rubles.
