The government of the Jewish Autonomous Region has authorized residents to utilize funds from the regional maternity capital for the paid treatment of children. The regional law has been amended following a session of the regional parliament, as announced by Rostislav Goldstein, the head of the Russian region, on his Telegram channel.
Today, the regional childbirth payment in the Jewish Autonomous Region amounts to 30% of the federal maternity capital. This is about 250,000 rubles.
Goldstein explained that the family will have the opportunity to utilize the certificate to cover both the cost of medical services and any associated expenses, such as travel to the treatment location or accommodations for a companion. A list of such expenses will appear in the future.
It was previously proposed at the federal level to ensure that maternity capital funds could be utilized to cover the expenses of treatment or rehabilitation services for children. The authors of the thematic bill have explained that there are numerous cases where this opportunity would greatly assist families. An example was given of the rehabilitation of children with autism.
