Russia Aims to Boost Domestic Production of Essential Medicines to 90%

Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin announced plans to increase the domestic production of essential medicines to 90% during a session on the national project “New Health Preservation Technologies.” He also noted that the production of domestic drugs and medical materials has grown by nearly 8%.

“Regarding the production base, during the implementation of the national project, we aim to increase the share of domestic production in the essential medicines sector to 90%. For medical devices, the goal is to reach 40%. This will contribute to the formation of technological sovereignty in the pharmaceutical and medical industries,” Mishustin concluded.
