The BRICS countries provide about 25% of global exports of vaccines and medicines. During the ongoing international conference in Moscow, Anna Popova, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, addressed this issue. She shared her insights with participating countries of the association.
“The BRICS countries not only meet their needs for vaccines and tests, but also help other states,” she emphasized, adding that the BRICS policy is based on achieving the interests of the Global South and biological sovereignty.
Today the association includes 10 countries, of which five – Egypt, Iran, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia – joined in 2024. Argentina, we recall, refused to join BRICS after Javier Miley assumed the presidency, although before that it had expressed such an intention.
