The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has recently devised a preliminary federal law titled “Amendment of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses,” outlining the potential seizure of unlabeled products. The document is currently in the public discussion stage until August 13.
The bill proposes to seize goods for which information has not been provided to the operators of the state monitoring system for the turnover of goods, or if such information is incomplete. In addition to confiscation, legal entities may face fines ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 rubles. The amendments will affect dietary supplements, medical devices, and disinfectants. Mandatory labeling for these products, as well as for antiseptics and wheelchairs, was introduced in May of last year, with the requirement to apply it from October 1, 2023.
