Online retailer Wildberries will allow the sale of over-the-counter drugs on the platform throughout the country. Previously, this opportunity was only available to residents of Moscow and the Moscow region. These regions have been serving as testing grounds for the project since 2021.
This only applies to those medications that can be purchased without a doctor’s prescription. These products can only be sold with a valid license for retailing drugs, and the platform must verify the relevant documents before allowing sales.
The storage, assembly and delivery of goods in this category will be carried out by the sellers themselves. “In this case, the platform directly connects the seller with the buyer,” the company explained. In the early stages of 2023, Wildberries made the decision to prohibit the sales of dietary supplements unless they are accompanied by a valid state registration certificate to confirm their authenticity.
