Two Russian universities agreed to develop medicinal products from plant materials

The Siberian State Medical University (SSMU) and the Buryat State Agricultural Academy (BSAA) Named After V.R. Filippov have entered into a collaboration focused on the processing of medicinal plants. Through this partnership, the institutions aim to advance research and development in herbal medicine.

This collaboration is expected to enhance the creation of competitive biopharmaceutical products derived from plants. Vasily Bulutov, head of the BSAA project office, emphasized that the medicinal plant cultivation project is a strategic priority for the academy. The agreement with SSMU will facilitate the exchange of knowledge and innovations, as well as the development of joint educational programs.
