Anna Popova, the head of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor), has stated that while there are currently no plans for mass vaccination against coronavirus in Russia, an attending physician can recommend the procedure if deemed necessary.
Popova stated, “Currently, we do not have plans for mass vaccinations against the coronavirus; however, if the situation demands, attending physicians will definitely recommend them.” She noted that the emphasis is currently on mass vaccination against influenza, since its severity does not change from year to year and complications can be very serious.
