RNC Pharma presented data on drug production activity in Russia from January to September 2024. Compared to the same period in 2023, the growth rate in rubles reached 16.2% (603 billion rubles). A total of 3.03 billion packages were shipped (+2.5%).
Analysts recorded a high level of activity of manufacturing companies in September (+12.6% compared to September 2023). Medicines worth 72.4 billion rubles were shipped this month, while the natural dynamics are negative (-2.8% in packages).
It has been observed that production volume has decreased for the second consecutive month, reaching a total of 330 million packages. Among the top 20 manufacturers of prescription drugs based on natural shipment volume, 13 are demonstrating positive growth trends. The largest increase in production volume in the top twenty was demonstrated by Sotex (+60.8% in packages).
The most noticeable decrease in Rx-range shipment volumes since the beginning of the year was demonstrated by Grotex (-21%). Over fifty percent of prescription drug brands showed a decline in production volumes during the analyzed period. The most pronounced dynamics were recorded for the Keytruda brand from MSD – over the year, the natural production volume decreased by 97%.
