Russia is set to launch an innovative recognition system aimed at honoring scientific achievements within the medical sector. The government intends to establish an annual award that will spotlight researchers whose innovations substantially improve public health and safety. This accolade will celebrate pivotal advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of diverse illnesses.
The competition will be held in three key areas:
- Biomedical and cognitive technologies to ensure healthy longevity;
- Development of innovative drugs, including biotechnological and radiopharmaceutical drugs;
- Creation of new generation medical products using biohybrid, bionic and neurotechnologies.
The cash reward for the winners in each nomination will be 1 million rubles. If the prize is awarded to a team of scientists, the amount will be evenly distributed among all participants. The selection of laureates will be carried out by a specially created Interdepartmental Council under the government, taking into account the opinions of the expert community.
