According to RNC Pharma’s research, Russians’ spending on veterinary drugs has steadily increased, with average purchases of 700 rubles (+9.4%) at pharmacies and over 1,300 rubles (+14.5%) online, due to higher foreign drug prices.
The total volume of the veterinary drug market for January-September reached 32.6 billion rubles, which is 14.6% higher than the previous year. It is important to note that the bulk of sales are medicines for pets, while the share of drugs for farm animals in the retail sector is minimal. Inflation at 35.2% has significantly affected prices, especially for imported drugs, which rose over 60%. Russian manufacturers are also increasing prices, but more slowly, with signs of stabilization in the market.
