The Russian Ministry of Health has put forward a proposal to amend the resolution governing the provision of medications for patients battling HIV and tuberculosis. The draft resolution proposes to clarify the procedure for submitting applications for the supply of antiviral and anti-tuberculosis drugs for medical use, as well as establishing the possibility of purchasing drugs using saved funds.
The proposed measures are aimed at improving the mechanism for providing patients with the necessary drugs and are in line with Russia’s international obligations. Funding from the federal budget will not be required to implement these changes. The draft resolution has already been posted on the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts for public discussion.
The amendments will also allow the purchase of drugs using saved funds, which will allow for more efficient use of budget resources, according to the explanatory note. It is also indicated that funding from the federal budget will not be required to implement the changes, which will allow the reform to be carried out without additional costs.
