Tomsk State University (TSU) is preparing to open a new Engineering Development Center specializing in chemical technologies and devices. The project secured substantial financial backing of 300 million rubles from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, with an anticipated implementation timeline of six years.
Set to launch by the end of 2024 within the TSU Chemistry Department, the new center will undertake a diverse array of engineering and scientific research tasks. Its mission is to bolster strategically vital industries in Russia, including the chemical, pharmaceutical, electronic, and construction sectors.
According to Alexey Knyazev, Acting Dean of the TSU Chemistry Department, the creation of the center meets the current needs of both government agencies and the private sector, which is fully consistent with the goals of the national project “New Materials and Chemistry” and the priority areas of scientific and technological development of the country.
