Within the framework of the national project “New Technologies for Saving Health”, it is planned to significantly increase the production of critically important medicines in Russia. As noted by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin during a meeting of the Council on National Projects, by 2030 it is planned to increase the share of domestic production of vital drugs from the list of vital and essential drugs to 90%.

According to the government report for 2023, at the moment about 80% of drugs from this list are produced domestically. The implementation of the project is also aimed at expanding the use of innovative biomedical technologies and methods of regenerative medicine, which should make modern methods of prevention and treatment more accessible to the population.
