JSC Eco Holding, a subsidiary of R-Pharm Group, has acquired a 49.9% stake in the IVF Center network, one of Russia’s leading providers of assisted reproductive technologies (ART).The IVF Center operates a federal network of 35 specialized clinics focused on infertility treatment, with locations spanning from Kaliningrad to Khabarovsk. Each year, these clinics perform thousands of IVF cycles, with approximately half funded through the compulsory medical insurance program, thereby making treatment more accessible to a broader patient base.
Experts suggest that this acquisition aligns with R-Pharm’s strategic development in the pharmaceutical sector, as the company already holds assets in reproductive medicine. In 2024, R-Pharm established the Reprofarm holding and registered the specialized domain reproapotheka.ru. This latest deal enhances R-Pharm’s footprint in the expanding reproductive health market.
The Russian ART market is experiencing growth; in the first nine months of 2024, the number of IVF cycles covered by compulsory medical insurance rose by 5% compared to the previous year, totaling 60,000 procedures. By November, this figure had increased to 83,000 cycles.
