Under the leadership of the medical technology holding RT Doctis, a new system for telemedicine monitoring of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is being tested at the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov. In case of successful completion of clinical trials, the method can be integrated into the compulsory medical insurance system, which will increase the availability of specialized medical care for patients with COPD.
The Gostelemed platform developed by the holding provides continuous remote monitoring of the condition of patients with COPD. The technology is based on the use of a mobile application in combination with portable diagnostic equipment, including a spirometer and pulse oximeter. Patients independently take measurements twice a day, after which the data is automatically transmitted to the attending physician. If deviations are detected, the system initiates medical consultations, and in critical cases, recommends hospitalization.
