Large-scale government initiatives to develop key sectors of the Russian economy are expected soon. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced that project implementation will start in early 2025 after review by the Presidential Council for Strategic Development.
The government has identified eight priority areas where it is necessary to achieve technological independence from foreign suppliers. The focus is on developing innovative materials, modernizing production, advancing the chemical and energy sectors, space industry, transport engineering, healthcare, food security, and creating civilian unmanned aircraft systems.
The Prime Minister confirmed that all financial resources for planned activities are allocated in the state budget. In addition, active work is underway to create an additional national project called “Bioeconomics”. The plan includes regional infrastructure for processing biological materials and adopting advanced technologies in agriculture, environmental protection, and pharmaceuticals.
