The head of the Russian Agricultural Supervision Agency (Rosselkhoznadzor), Sergey Dankvert, announced a this breakthrough in domestic veterinary vaccine production. He reported that the share of Russian animal vaccines in the domestic market has reached 70%, greatly displacing foreign manufacturers who previously held a similar market share.

Dankvert explained, “Two years ago, 70% of veterinary vaccines were imported, while 30% were domestic. This year, we expect to see a reversal with 70% being Russian and 30% imported.”

One notable example is the Federal Center for Animal Health (VNIIZh), which has increased its production of veterinary vaccines nearly ninefold. The center’s output has risen from 1.5 billion doses for poultry to 13.1 billion doses. In the context of sanctions, this achievement is deemed strategically important for ensuring the country’s food security.
