Vladislav Zaslavsky, the head of the Department of Digital Labeling and Traceability of Goods at the Ministry of Industry and Trade, announced that a new system for automatically imposing fines on companies that breach product labeling regulations will be launched soon. The government is currently studying various types of violations.

Zaslavsky clarified that automatic sanctions will be enforced against market participants engaged in trading without proper registration in the labeling system. This includes those selling expired goods despite a prohibition, as well as those offering products at prices that violate state standards under the existing permitting regime.

“There is a minor violation, I received an automatic warning, another minor one – a fine, and accumulation, accordingly, we will force the participant in the equipment of the goods to comply with the requirements of the law and not allow these violations,” he added.

A ministry representative stated that the implementation of automatic fines, combined with a risk assessment system, a permitting regime at the checkout, and automatic warnings, will facilitate effective oversight of compliance with mandatory requirements, eliminating the necessity for traditional inspections.
