Deputy Chair of the State Duma, Irina Yarovaya, has renewed an appeal to the Ministry of Health to modernize the document processing system for seriously ill patients, specifically focusing on simplifying the document flow for cancer patients. This initiative aims to alleviate bureaucratic barriers in the healthcare system, which currently hinder timely medical assistance.
The proposed changes would enable requests for continued treatment and necessary medications to be processed more efficiently, potentially within three days, without requiring the patient’s personal presence in their registered region. This is particularly crucial for residents of the Far Eastern region and new territories, who often face significant travel burdens for documentation despite receiving treatment elsewhere.
Despite previous discussions, concrete solutions have yet to be implemented at the level of subordinate acts. Yarovaya’s initiative underscores the need to address these systemic issues to ensure that cancer patients receive prompt and effective care.
