According to the results of reproductive health screenings conducted in Russia, a significant portion of the population has good reproductive potential: 67% of women and 88% of men received the first health group designation (healthy or nearly healthy). This was reported by Deputy Minister of Health Evgeniya Kotova during a Federation Council meeting on February 19. Risk factors were identified in 20% of women and 8% of men.
Kotova stated, “Preliminary results showed that the majority of our population still falls into the first health group, meaning they are healthy or nearly healthy. This includes 67% of women and 88% of men. Those with risk factors fall into the second health group, which includes 20% of women and 8% of men. This indicates that we have a good reproductive potential among the population, as there are significantly more healthy individuals than those with issues.”
She also added that the third health group (individuals with chronic non-communicable diseases) was identified in 12.4% of women and 2.5% of men. Among the identified conditions for both women and men were inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs and functional disorders that require further monitoring by specialists.
