The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation has appealed to the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to strengthen control over the online sale of dietary supplements. This move is driven by growing concerns about the spread of counterfeit products and unauthorized medications masquerading as dietary supplements on internet platforms.
The Chamber highlights that marketplaces often lack the resources to verify the authenticity and compliance of products. To address this issue, the organization proposes introducing mandatory certification for all dietary supplements sold in Russia, regardless of their country of origin. Additionally, The Chamber suggests implementing a mechanism for extrajudicial blocking of websites selling unauthorized or unregistered products.
