The International Association Anti-Counterfeit has launched a project titled «Do Not Take Risks! Check», aimed at creating public registers of safe and unsafe dietary supplements, the press service of the organization reported. According to Artur Taimazov, a member of the association’s Board of Trustees and a State Duma deputy, regulatory oversight of the dietary supplements market is crucial for both the public and regulatory authorities.

The registers will be based on assessments conducted in independent laboratories, which will verify the actual composition of products, ensure the absence of harmful components, and assess the quality of raw materials, said Sergey Zelenets, Vice President of the Board of the Association.

In February 2025, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry appealed to the Federal Antimonopoly Service, urging stronger control over the online sale of dietary supplements due to the increasing risks of counterfeit products and illegal drugs being disguised as dietary supplements on online platforms.

Representatives from organizations operating in the sector have reported numerous violations in the sale of such items. Media reports revealed the presence of prescription hormonal drugs, medicinal doses of vitamin D, and potent pharmaceutical substances—typically considered unregistered drugs—being sold under the guise of dietary supplements on platforms like Wildberries and Ozon.

Additionally, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed several amendments to labeling regulations aimed at expanding the types of food additives that require labeling. The agency has also recommended banning the sale of unmarked dietary supplements produced or imported into Russia before the new requirements take effect on August 31, 2026.
