More Russian-made vaccines will be sent to Vietnam, there is a great potential for that, said Kirill Dmitriev, general director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), following talks with a delegation from Vietnam. His words were quoted by RIA Novosti. During the event, the participants also concluded an agreement providing for the mutual supply of Russian and Vietnamese medicines to the markets of the two countries.
“We have signed an important agreement with the Vietnam National Vaccine Center on sending more vaccines to the Vietnamese market. <…> We see great potential in our vaccines. They have a very good track record, if we remember the times of COVID-19,” Dmitriev said.
The Russian Direct Investment Fund and the Vietnam National Vaccine Center have signed an agreement to create a joint investment platform for the commercialization of developments in biomedicine and healthcare. The platform’s activities are aimed at supporting joint research and development of new technologies in the healthcare sector for their further commercialization, as well as co-investment, technology transfer and the supply of innovative vaccines.
“Russia and Vietnam have a lot to offer each other in terms of investment cooperation and technology exchange, particularly in the biomedical industry and healthcare. During the pandemic, Vietnam became one of the countries where the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V was approved. The platform, which we are announcing today, will play an important role in strengthening scientific and technological exchange between the two countries for the development of innovative products in the field of healthcare,” the foundation said.
In early 2025 Binnopharm Group had opened a representative office in Vietnam. This will allow for continued export growth, in particular, for further expansion to other Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
