Orenburg region launches production of Florobiom probiotic

OOO Component Lactis (Buguruslan), a research and production biotechnological company, has signed a license agreement with the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) on the production of new types of probiotics. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development, Investments, Tourism and External Relations of the Orenburg region. As part of the cooperation, the company intends to launch the production of Florobiom, a drug that restores the intestinal microbiome.

According to the ministry, the state registration of the drug is currently underway, and the company plans to produce 1 million capsules per month by the end of 2025.

The Lactis Component is based on advanced developments of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The company has successfully implemented the technological process of microbial biomass encapsulation. The ministry added that the expansion of the product line shows a growing connection between research and production, as well as the manufacturer’s focus on import substitution.

Conditions are being created in the Orenburg Region to increase the innovative activity of business and science, with the necessary regulatory framework being formed, and a regional program for scientific and technological development is currently being developed.

OOO Component-Lactis has been producing ready-made microorganism complexes for food and pharmaceutical products for more than 30 years. It owns one of the largest production complexes in Buguruslan.
