Sotex participated in the 13th Congress of Oncologists of Russia

On May 19-21, Sotex Pharmaceutical Company took part in the 13th Congress of Oncologists of Russia with International participation in Ufa. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the oncology care service and the memory of Academician Mikhail Davydov of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Representatives of the professional community shared their clinical experiences, summarized scientific activities from recent years, and outlined a strategy for the cancer carer development.

During the congress, presentations supported by Sotex addressed topics such as anemia treatment in cancer patients, modern approaches to pain management, and the role and status of clinical guidelines.

Professor Tatiana Semiglazova, Doctor of Sciences in Medicine, the head of the scientific department of therapeutic oncology and rehabilitation of N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Professor of the Department of Oncology of the North-Western State Medical University named after I. I. Mechnikov, presented a report “Modern guidelines for the treatment of anemia in patients with gastrointestinal tumors”, where she spoke about the possibilities of prescribing Eralfon for preoperative patient preparation.

Guzal Abuzarova, Doctor of Sciences in Medicine, Head of the Palliative Care Center of the Moscow Oncology Research Institute named after Herzen, Professor of Oncology and Palliative Medicine of A. I. Savitsky Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education, made a report “Reduction and discontinuation of opioid doses. How is this possible?”, sharing scientific and practical data on important aspects in the treatment of chronic pain syndrome, as well as clinical experience in the use of Tafalgin.

Maxim Pak, Head of the Department of Antitumor Drug Therapy of the Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the Bank of Russia, Candidate of Sciences in Medicine, highlighted the role of innovative analgesics in modern pain management for cancer patients, using head and neck tumors as an example.

Professor Georgy Novikov, Head of the Department of Palliative Medicine of Moscow State Medical and Dental University named after A. I. Evdokimov, Chairman of the Board of the Russian Association of Palliative Medicine, Doctor of Sciences in Medicine, made a presentation on “New opportunities for chronic pain management in cancer patients”, in which he presented the data of the observational multicenter trial NIKITA on the efficacy and safety of Tafalgin, a selective opioid agonist.

At the Sotex exhibition stand, congress participants had the opportunity to explore promotional materials and review new scientific publications related to concomitant therapy.

The 13th Congress of Oncologists served as a prime example of fruitful collaboration among oncologists, with the primary goal of strengthening the unified efforts of the medical community in the fight against cancer.
