Russia is ready to supply other countries with several of its own vaccines, including mpox, said Sergey Glagolev, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation. To expand the country’s export opportunities, the Medical Technology Transfer Center was also established, which operates within the framework of the federal project Medical Science for People. The deputy minister’s words were quoted by TASS.

“We can offer vaccines for the prevention of pneumococcal infections, which are affordable. The Chumakov Institute’s polio vaccine, which received the Russian government’s award, is a Sabin strain inactivated mpox vaccine,” Glagolev said during an expanded meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions of Latin American and Caribbean countries.

Russia is also ready to export Fluorothiazinone, a drug to combat antibiotic resistance, and a domestic vaccine against yellow fever. He stressed that Russian generics and medical products are highly competitive in international markets in terms of price.

According to the Deputy minister, the Medical Technology Transfer Center supports manufacturers in promoting products to friendly countries, helps them understand the requirements of foreign regulators and establishes direct contacts between Russian exporters and foreign regulatory authorities.

“We are willing not only to export, but also to import pharmaceutical products from partner countries. Our Center is ready to provide advice on these issues,” Glagolev added.

Earlier, Alexander Bykov, Director of Healthcare Economics at R-Pharm, shared his thoughts with GxP News on the ways of bringing Russian drugs to foreign markets. According to him, the geopolitical situation has affected the Russian pharmaceutical industry, but the impact was not devastating.
