Russia plans to register its drugs in Turkey

Russia and Turkey have agreed to consider mutual supplies of medicines and medical products, as well as an exchange of experiences between scientific institutions specializing in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and biomedical engineering. TASS reported this with reference to the minutes of the meeting of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

The Russian side expressed interest in registering and introducing more effective, efficient, and safe medicines for the treatment of cancer, autoimmune, and orphan diseases into the Turkish market, according to the document.

In addition, Russia and Turkey have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of health tourism. The Turkish side confirmed its readiness to host events as part of the Heal in Turkiye concept.

The 19th meeting of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation took place in Moscow on June 27, 2025.

Earlier, the Russian company R-Pharm expressed interest in localizing the production of Turkish drugs in Russia and helping them enter the Russian market. The company announced that it is considering collaborating with Turkey to promote its portfolio of original drugs, biosimilars, and generics in Turkish and other markets.
