Investments in the construction of a plant for the production of antitumor drugs in the Dubna Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will amount to 1.8 billion rubles. The production complex, which has an area of 5,200 square meters, will develop and produce hormonal anticancer drugs, hormone antagonists, and related compounds. The project will be implemented by OOO Alsigma (a subsidiary of AO Altegra), the press service of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region reported.
The first stage of the project will be launched in 2027, with full completion scheduled for 2029. The company will create 55 jobs for local residents. After reaching full capacity, the company will produce over 140 million tablets and capsules annually.
According to Ekaterina Zinovieva, Deputy Chair of the regional government and Minister of Investment, Industry, and Science, the project’s implementation is crucial to avoiding supply interruptions of imported medicines in these categories.
According to Anton Afanasyev, General Director of AO SEZ TVT Dubna, today more than 40 SEZ residents are implementing medical and pharmaceutical industry projects. The new production plant will be incorporated into a research and manufacturing cluster for crucial medicines currently being developed in Dubna.
Last year, Zinovieva stated that Alsigma was going to develop generics. The company, together with experts in microbiology, clinical pharmacology and other specialists in antibiotic therapy, plans to conduct research and development to find new promising antibiotics and cancer drugs.
