Since the start of the year, nearly 2.8 million telemedicine consultations have been conducted in the Moscow region, marking a significant increase in remote healthcare us. The figure represents a rise of approximately 1.9 million compared to the same period last year, underscoring the growing popularity of online medical services, according to the Moscow Region Ministry of Health.
“Telemedicine enables patients to save time and access qualified medical care from the comfort of their homes,” said Maxim Zabelin, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Region Government and Minister of Health of the region.
The service is available to adults, children, and pregnant women following an initial in-person consultation. During virtual appointments, specialists can issue electronic prescriptions, review test results, comment on examinations, and adjust treatment plans.
Appointments can be scheduled via the RT DoctorOnline app, the public services Zdorovie (health) portal, information desks at polyclinics, by phone at 122, or through attending physicians during routine visits.
The expansion of telemedicine services aims to improve healthcare accessibility and convenience for millions of residents across the region.
Earlier reports highlight that technological advancements—such as telemedicine, the Internet of Medical Things, mobile applications, and artificial intelligence—are key drivers of the pharmaceutical industry’s digital transformation, as these areas are considered as important elements within the framework of the Pharma 2030 strategy.
