The investments of the Moscow company Leovit in the therapeutic and enteral nutrition plant in Novomichurinsk, Ryazan region, amounted to 1.8 billion rubles. The company bought the production site a year ago and has since set up a new facility there.
Launched in September, the plant now produces a new product for the company—tube feeding. Thus, with existing facilities in Moscow, Armavir, and Pushkino, the company can “fully meet the needs of our country’s patients for enteral nutrition — including dry formulas, tube feeding, and sipping products,” the press service of Leovit noted.
“This is a significant advancement in the development of healthcare and the entire Russian medical industry. Currently, approximately 80% of enteral nutrition on the market is of foreign origin. The plant will enable a dramatic change in this situation,” said Pavel Malkov, Governor of the Ryazan Region.
Enteral nutrition is a vital component of medical care, providing essential nutrients when normal oral intake is insufficient or impossible, thereby supporting the restoration of metabolic processes. Leovit manufactures enteral nutrition products for children and adults, catering to those with oncological and infectious diseases, gastrostomy patients, individuals recovering from surgical procedures, palliative care patients, and others requiring specialized nutritional support.
On the day of the plant’s launch, Leovit and the Industrial Development Fund of the Ryazan Region signed an agreement to participate in the activities of the regional cluster dedicated to the medical and pharmaceutical industries. Within the framework of the cluster, it is planned to establish research centers and foster collaboration with major medical institutions to enhance innovation and advance healthcare solutions.
