Russian-based Binnopharm Group is launching a logistics hub in China through its subsidiary Shanghai Binnofa Chemical, according to a statement from the pharmaceutical group.

Its own warehouses and cooperation with Chinese carriers have already optimized shipping costs and reduced the delivery time for raw materials—the company has organized direct air shipments of pharmaceutical substances from China to Binnopharm Group’s production sites in Russia. This month, a new logistics route will be launched via road transport from a Shanghai warehouse to Russia.

In the future, Binnopharm Group plans to expand the geography of shipments from the Shanghai hub to Southeast Asian countries to strengthen its position in the region.

“Licensing our own logistics direction and the official launch of the first shipments is a logical stage in the evolution of our Chinese ‘daughter’ and part of Binnopharm Group’s comprehensive international expansion strategy,” said the group’s general director, Rustem Muratov. “Over two years, Shanghai Binnofa Chemical has transformed into an independent local company with an expected annual turnover of over 220 million yuan (almost 2.5 billion rubles).” According to him, the Chinese subsidiary addresses three key tasks in Asia: technological cooperation, proprietary logistics, and developing an international presence.

As Muratov noted earlier, demand for Russian medicines is steadily growing, particularly for original and technologically complex drugs. The group currently exports its products to 14 countries and continues to expand its geographic reach.
