Pharmaceutical company PSK Pharma has invested 1 billion roubles in modernising production of inhalation powder capsules at its full-cycle plant in the Dubna special economic zone, the press service of the Moscow region’s ministry of investment, industry and science said.
Before the upgrade, the line’s capacity was up to 80,000 capsules per hour, Minister of Investment, Industry and Science of the Moscow Region Ekaterina Zinovieva said. “After installing additional equipment, the company doubled its productivity. Alongside the capsule line, tablet lines and analytical equipment were also purchased. The total investment in the production upgrade exceeded 1 billion roubles,” Zinovieva said.
The modernized line produces capsules for inhalers used to treat respiratory diseases—bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The production’s feature is working with microscopic, precisely measured quantities of active ingredients, requiring high-tech equipment and adherence to strict quality standards, the press service noted.
“The incidence of bronchial asthma and COPD continues to grow. Launching new capacities allows us not only to fully cover current market needs but also to have an additional productivity reserve,” said PSK Pharma’s General Director Evgenia Shapiro.
