Sechenov University, as part of the “University of Entrepreneurs” project, has launched three entrepreneurial workshops for developing innovations in medicine.

“In these workshops, students, under the guidance of industry partners and scientific mentors, are working on creating medicinal drugs, bionic prostheses, and digital medical platforms,” GxP News was informed by the university’s press service.

Thus, in the workshop for creating original drugs and vaccines, in collaboration with PAO Artgen, drugs for treating age-associated, infectious, and orphan diseases are being developed. “The work is organized so that each project team goes through the full development cycle—from formulating an idea to obtaining a molecule prototype,” the press service noted.

In the prosthetics workshop run by the company Motorika, bionic prostheses and implants are being developed, combining biomedical technologies, engineering solutions, and clinical expertise to restore lost functions. In particular, systems for electrical stimulation of laryngeal muscles to restore respiratory function and wireless visual prosthetics devices are being created there.

The digital solutions workshop from Pharmrazvitiye allows students to try their hand at creating and testing digital products that combine AI data analysis, telemedicine, and personalized recommendations. Among the projects are the BIOLock platform for monitoring adverse reactions, a chatbot for collecting data and feedback from patients and doctors, and a digital platform for controlling lipid profiles and preventing cardiovascular diseases.

“The main advantage of the new tool is the possibility of deep integration. This allows not just doing scientific work or an early-stage startup, but understanding what real need the product addresses and how to bring it to market with the help of the master-entrepreneur’s company and university resources,” noted Alla Panchenko, deputy director of the Center for Industrial Technologies and Entrepreneurship at Sechenov University.

The “University of Entrepreneurs” is a joint project of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, and the ANO “Razvitiye Chelovecheskogo Kapitala” (Human Capital Development) that launched in September 2025. Within the project, major businesses open workshops in leading universities across the country, engaging students in the development of innovative products. To date, 20 such workshops are operating in eight capital universities, including three at Sechenov University, involving 45 students.
