Russia’s Binnofarm Group has initiated the registration process for its probiotic Maxilac in Vietnam. The dietary supplement is intended to restore the balance of intestinal microflora, the company’s press service informed GxP News.
Maxilac becomes the second gastroenterological product that Binnofarm Group is registering in the country. The group had previously submitted an application for an over-the-counter drug to treat functional gastrointestinal disorders, though the press service did not specify which one.
Gastrointestinal diseases are among the top five most common pathologies in Vietnam, affecting over 27 million people. According to industry statistics, the local probiotic market is showing steady growth: sales volume increased from 693 million units in 2022 to 766 million in 2024, with more than 80% of sales traditionally coming from retail, the company noted.
The group opened a representative office in Vietnam in January 2025. “In less than a year, Binnofarm Group has progressed from initial market research to taking practical steps toward registering two product categories at once—medicines and dietary supplements,” the press service emphasized.
Earlier, the group announced an increase in sales of its medicines in Mongolia: up 78% over the first eight months of last year compared to the same period in 2024.
