R‑Opra, part of the R‑Pharm group, has started producing Dekalpar (paricalcitol) for treating severe chronic kidney disease at the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone. The drug is now available as a sterile intravenous solution, expanding its clinical applications. In 2025, the company had already launched the drug in gelatin capsule form.

The Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy said that three guaranteed‑sales contracts have been signed with R‑Opra to supply the capital’s healthcare system. Under these agreements, the city will receive drugs that were not previously produced in Russia.

Paricalcitol is a synthetic analogue of the active form of vitamin D and is used to maintain calcium and phosphorus balance in patients with chronic kidney failure at all stages of the disease. The new formulation is especially important for dialysis patients.

Production is organised as a full‑cycle process – from active pharmaceutical ingredient synthesis to finished drug product. All stages are localised at the group’s facilities in Russia, ensuring uninterrupted supply and reducing import dependence.

The original paricalcitol is supplied by AbbVie. The US drug giant markets it under the brand name Zemplar. It was registered in the United States in 1998 and in Russia in 2009. The drug is on the list of vital and essential medicines. According to the state medicines registry, as of April 2026, paricalcitol from Pharmasyntez‑Tyumen is also available on the Russian market alongside R‑Opra and AbbVie.
