A delegation from the Ministry of Economic Development and students from the Department of World Economy of Baikal State University were welcomed to the Irkutsk plant of the Pharmasyntez Group of Companies. Representatives of the company conducted a sightseeing tour for the guests. The students were given a tour of the workshop where solid sterile dosage forms are produced, sterile rooms are maintained, glass containers for medicines are dried, and an automated packaging line is operated.

Evgeniy Orachevsky, Director for Interaction with Government Authorities of JSC Pharmasyntez, discussed the imminent launch of a new production facility for bronchodilator drugs used in the treatment of bronchial asthma while responding to students’ inquiries.

“The creation of a new workshop for the production of asthmatic drugs is at the final stage. At least ten types of drugs in different forms will be produced: both in the form of capsules and in the form of aerosols. It is also planned to produce contract mechanical devices that will ensure the delivery of medicine to the lungs of patients.”

The participants of the excursion were informed about Pharmasyntez’s commitment to fulfilling Russian President Vladimir Putin’s objective of import substitution for essential medications. Natalya Gershun, the head of the regional Ministry of Economic Development, stressed that the company received continuous government support throughout its development and expansion. This support included tax incentives, which allowed them to save and reinvest over 1.7 billion rubles, as well as preferential loans from the Industrial Development Fund, which were used to acquire new equipment. Additionally, the company became a participant in the Labor Productivity national project, a initiative spearheaded by the President of the Russian Federation.

The excursion participants noted that during their visit to the enterprise they were interested in learning about pharmaceutical production.

“The scale of production is amazing: gigantic workshops, high-tech equipment, how many people are here. It’s impressive how much concentration is required to work here: you can’t miss anything, but at the same time you feel involved in something bigger – people’s health,” student Anna Osipova shared her impressions of the excursion.
