The opening of a new pharmaceutical production facility of the R-Pharm company in St. Petersburg is planned for 2025. The company is moving forward with its project in the Novoorlovskaya special economic zone, having previously acquired Baltpharma along with an existing building. Currently, equipment installation and structure assembly work is underway at the facility. Vice-Governor Kirill Polyakov spoke about this during the Russian Industrialist international forum.
“We finalized our collaboration with R-Pharm, granting them the rights to execute the project in the Novoorlovskaya special economic zone through their acquisition of Baltpharma.” Baltpharma already had a building constructed, and equipment is currently being delivered, and support structures are being installed. “The launch of the enterprise is set for 2025, and we are approaching these timelines with a sense of optimism,” Polyakov noted.
The enterprise will operate under an offset contract, producing 31 drug types fully. For seven years, the city will buy the plant’s products for preferential groups without competition, ensuring production utilization. R-Pharm is currently managing three offset contracts in Moscow. A contract was signed in April 2023 for a pharmaceutical company to invest at least 3 billion rubles to create a facility for 10 INNs in the capital.
