The anti-COVID-19 Sputnik V vaccine was approved by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP), according to the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).
Pakistan became the 22nd country in the world approved the Sputnik V vaccine. The vaccine was registered in the country as part of an accelerated procedure (emergency use authorization) based on data from Sputnik V clinical studies in Russia.
“Pakistan is one of the countries with the largest population in the world, and the inclusion of the Sputnik V vaccine in the national portfolio of anti-COVID-19 drugs is an important step to ensure its diversification and protection of human health. The approval of the vaccine according to the accelerated procedure was made possible due to its high efficiency and safety, as well as wide study of the platform of human adenoviral vectors, “said Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of the RDIF.
Sputnik V is currently registered in Russia, Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, Hungary, the UAE, Iran, the Republic of Guinea, Tunisia, Armenia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Republika Srpska (entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina), Lebanon and Myanmar.
