More than 2 billion rubles will be allocated to the scientific center “Vector” for the anti-COVID-19 peptide vaccine production for the “EpiVakKorona.” The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“Due to federal funding, more than 2 million doses of the new vaccine will be released. Part of the money will go to supply the drug to the regions”, the explanatory note to the document says.

“This is the third development of our scientists, and in the coming months it will also enter into civil circulation. All this will allow expanding vaccination, making it more accessible, which means protecting even more people”, said Mikhail Mishustin.

The issue was discussed on January 26 at a meeting of the Coordinating Council under the Government to stop the spread of coronavirus infection. Mikhail Mishustin recalled that now mass vaccination is mainly “Sputnik V.” The large-scale release of the EpiVakCorona vaccine will start in February, the prime minister said.
