The Russian authorities will continue to improve the system of medical care for children with cancer and blood diseases and introduce innovative approaches, said Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by RIA Novosti. The President stressed that at present, due to the doctor’s efforts, about 80% of children suffering from oncological and hematological diseases are recovering. For certain types of diseases, this figure reaches almost 90%. According to the head of state, over the past 4 years, in Russia as a whole, the volume of high-tech assistance to children in the oncology profile has grown by more than 30%, including an increase in the number of operations such as bone marrow transplantation – 667 last year.
