Moscow police seized more than 600 kilograms of potent substances from illegal circulation

In Moscow, the police eradicated a supply channel of drugs the circulation of which in the Russian Federation is subject to limitations. The guards detained the leaders and members of the group who illegally distributed these drugs through pharmacies in the capital. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As it was established, the attackers created a commercial structure that received a license for pharmaceutical activities. The organizers of the criminal business purchased wholesale batches of drugs containing potent substances from manufacturers. With the help of couriers, they were handed over to pharmacy workers involved in the illegal scheme. They removed the labeling from the packages of pills and drops and sold them for cash, without issuing a cash receipt, and without a prescription. At the same time, the cost of medicines was more than 10 times higher than the purchase price.

Police officers detained two alleged organizers and 13 participants of the organized group, which included residents of neighboring countries and several Russian regions.

Searches were conducted in their places of residence and of business activities, during which more than 58,000 vials and 70,000 capsules containing about 600 kilograms of potent substances were found. Money, documents, bank cards, seals and stamps of state, commercial and medical organizations, personal seals of doctors, and prescription forms were also seized.

A criminal case has been initiated for illegal trafficking of potent substances under Part 3 of Article 234 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Four suspects were taken into custody, two are on house arrest, and nine more signed acknowledgement of travel restrictions and proper behavior obligations.
