About 150,000 doses of Sputnik M coronavirus vaccine for adolescents have been produced in the Russian Federation. By the end of the year, it is planned to release about 200,000-250,000 doses of the drug into civil circulation. This was stated by Aleksander Ginzburg, director of the N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.
“We have already made about 150,000 doses. By the end of the year, we plan to release about 200,000-250,000 doses into civil circulation,” RIA Novosti quotes Ginzburg as saying.
At the end of November, Russia registered its Sputnik M coronavirus vaccine for adolescents aged 12 to 17. Vaccination of children against COVID-19 will be voluntary. This requires the consent of parents or legal representatives.
According to Tatyana Golikova, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the vaccine for children is expected to enter civil circulation in Russia no earlier than late December 2021.
On November 29, N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology submitted documents for trials of a vaccine against coronavirus infection for children aged six years and older.
