The Government of the Russian Federation has allowed companies not to pay compensation to patent holders from hostile countries. The corresponding resolution was signed by Mikhail Mishustin, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

“The Head of the Cabinet of Ministers has amended the methodology for determining the compensation to be paid to copyright holders when it is decided to use the invention without their consent. According to the document, payments to patent holders from hostile countries are to be 0% of the actual revenue from the production and sales of goods, performance of works, and provision of services with the use of such inventions, utility models, or industrial designs,” Rossiyskaya Gazeta states.

The Cabinet of Ministers earlier approved the rules of transactions with foreign companies from countries hostile to Russia.

The State Duma has amended the legislative acts on provision of medicines.
