Fabrika RTT (a Russian enterprise, part of R-Pharm Group of Companies) has received a CT-1 certificate of product origin for Halcyon® remote radiotherapy device of all modifications. The expert examination was conducted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Moscow region. This was reported in the press service of the Group of Companies.

“Import substitution of heavy medical equipment plays an important role in providing high-quality and affordable cancer care to patients and a competitive advantage for Russian enterprises. The Halcyon systems we produce are exclusively for the Russian market; it is also important that they are some of the most sophisticated devices of their type globally. Our partner, Varian, introduced this model in 2017, and as early as in 2021 we fully mastered the production of the entire product line in accordance with strict quality standards. Obtaining the CT-1 certificate will significantly reduce the cost of our products compared to imported analogues,” said Andrey Popov, General Director of OOO Fabrika RTT .

As the press service noted the Halcyon linear accelerator meets the highest requirements for the technical equipment of radiotherapy departments and is in demand in Russia due to its clinical effectiveness and advantages such as compact size, a throughput of over 100 patients per day, fast installation and commissioning without compromising quality.

As R-Pharm explained, the therapeutic spectrum of the device makes it possible to provide radiation therapy of patients with malignant neoplasms in the head and neck, chest, abdominal cavity, pelvis, central and peripheral nervous system, both for radical treatment and palliative care.

Since the end of 2021, Fabrika RTT has supplied more than 10 Halcyon devices it produced as part of federal project “Fight against Cancer”.

The strategic agreement on localization of Halcyon production, signed between Fabrika RTT and Varian Medical Systems Inc. in September 2019, provides for the production of up to 200 devices over five years at Fabrika RTT plant in Dubna Special Economic Zone; the products are intended for supplies within Russia.
