According to the press service of the Circle of Kindness Foundation, a new batch of Orkambi for the wards of the Foundation suffering from cystic fibrosis is expected to be shipped later in May.
“The manufacturer referred to the difficulties due to the restrictions imposed by the European Council on cargo transportation and assured that they were looking for organizations that could deliver a batch of Orkambi to Russia. It is expected that the obligations for the shipment of the drug will be fulfilled later in May,” the message says.
The Foundation stresses that they expected to have the next batch of the drug delivered in April. The Federal Center for Planning and Organization of Medical Support of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, which is in charge of the procurement and supply of drugs registered in the Russian Federation in accordance with the list drafted by the Foundation, passed the message from Orkambi’s manufacturer to the Circle of Kindness about the delay in the delivery of the drug.
The Circle of Kindness has requested information about the stocks of Orkambi from previously delivered shipments that remain in the regions. The Foundation noted that before the delivery of the next batch they would take all necessary measures “to ensure the redistribution of the drug to the regions where the stocks are running low”.
